Sydney Johnson, Spanish and Portuguese

Bio/Description

Sydney Johnson is a Spanish and Portuguese concentrator on the Creative Arts track with certificates in Urban Studies and Latin American Studies. Her areas of interest include Afro-Latinx identities and representation throughout history and various media forms. On campus, Sydney serves as the 2024 Class President, Women's Club Volleyball Co-Captain, and on various boards. Her senior thesis will highlight the Afro-Latinx origins of reggaeton and its journey to commercialization. After graduation, Sydney hopes to work in the entertainment industry at the intersections of music and business.
