Benjamin Bradlow is an Associate Research Scholar in the Department of Sociology at Princeton University and a Lecturer in Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs. Before arriving at Princeton, Bradlow was a Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer at Harvard University. In award-winning, peer-reviewed publications, he connects urban inequality, climate change, and the political challenges for democracy that confront societies across the globe. Bradlow’s first book, Urban Power (under contract with Princeton University Press), compares the divergent politics of distributing urban public goods — housing, sanitation, and transportation — in two mega-cities after transitions to democracy: São Paulo, Brazil, and Johannesburg, South Africa. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, American Council of Learned Societies, Fulbright Program, and Brazilian Studies Association. Bradlow received a PhD in sociology from Brown University, a MCP in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a BA (with high honors) in history from Swarthmore College.
