Bio/Description

Alejandro Martínez Rodríguez is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Princeton University. His research focuses on the documentary turn in Latin America and the relevance of minor materials such as found objects, found footage, home movies, and family archives, for contemporary Latin American visual arts, cinema and literature, specially in Chile, Argentina, and Venezuela. In addition he has written articles about Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño and Chilean artist Juan Pablo Langlois. Alejandro holds a Master's Degree in Ethics (summa cum laude) from the Universidad Alberto Hurtado (Chile), and a BA in Literature (summa cum laude) from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Venezuela).
