Since the inception of the Program in Latin American Studies in 1967, Princeton University scholars have guided the field forward, changing the shape of both research and education. Our faculty are among the leading minds in the field, pursuing scholarship that is changing the conversation about the region.
PLAS is pleased to serve as a funding partner for projects ranging from field research and conference travel to course enhancements that bring classroom teaching to life.
With special emphasis on tenure-track Assistant Professors, PLAS supports summer fieldwork centered in Latin America and the Caribbean through designated travel grants.
In keeping with Princeton’s leadership in exploring Latin American topics, PLAS facilitates conference travel for associated faculty who present at academic conferences.
To bring Latin America to campus, PLAS encourages the development of public programming designed in partnership with other groups interested in the region.
