Event Description

In a globalized world of international media conglomerates, it’s a paradox that journalism in translation plays such a small role in the Anglophone world. Diverse journalistic traditions can offer new perspectives, but do their independent conventions and standards present major cultural barriers to readers?

The Polish reportaż author Margo Rejmer and Mexican crónica author Julián Herbert join their translators, Antonia Lloyd-Jones and Christina MacSweeney, to discuss how to can increase communication among journalistic traditions, and what role translators play in bringing international journalism to new audiences.
